Banked Slalom Stoos a complete success despite bad weather

105 registrations (compared to 80 last year) and 70 starters, the same number as last year, defy the miserable weather conditions and celebrate a snowboard festival on the Stoos in constant rain. Nadja Purtschert and Kilian Wiget repeat their victories from the previous year, andwithout exception all the riders are soaked in the specially erected marquee. Initiator Daniel "Gummi" Rietmann also has the weather strains written all over his face: "The set-up was excellent. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee good weather. We were able to complete two runs without any problems, even though it rained non-stop. I would like to thank all the people from Shredisfaction Snowpark Stoos in particular - but also all the other helpers. Without them, today would not have gone so smoothly."Happy faces everywhereThe 70 snowboarders defied the odds. There was an excellent atmosphere on the course and in the tent. Beni Plüss, speaker and representative of Shredisfaction, is still gobsmacked: "It's simply incredible. We were expecting maybe a dozen freaks to make it to the foot of the Klingenstock today. But there were just as many as last year. Unbelievable! This spirit is what makes snowboarding so unique. And that's exactly what made all the effort worthwhile."Olympian Purtschert defends her titleThere was a title defense in both the women's and men's categories. Nadja Purtschert won the women's race thanks to the 2nd run and Kilian Wiget set a top time in the men's over 30 category, just like last year. Till Baechler won the men's 18-30 category. Julian Furrer was the fastest in the rookie category. Neo, who is only 7 years old, showed the greatest courage and was also the winner of the kids' category. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbpLtOVlE-g&feature=youtu.beRL_BankedSlalom_2017
