Simon Stricker

For many young skaters, the first "sponsor-me video" leads to their first landing on the hard ground of reality. Not so for Simon Stricker, who really started to take off thanks to this footage. Only on his skateboard, of course, because otherwise the Zurich native still has both feet on the ground. Solid professional training was a must. At the same time, his repertoire of tricks grew, as did his list of sponsors, video parts and top placings in contests. Third place at the Simple Sessions in Estonia in 2012 and victory at the Element Make it Count Euro Final in the same year show what "Stricki" is capable of. Now he is traveling the world, producing video parts and competing in contests. His films are little trips around the world, where he strings together street tricks with Swiss precision. In Switzerland, he helped design the indoor street area of the Skills Park in Winterthur. His ultimate goal, however, is Tokyo, or more precisely: the Olympic premiere for skateboarders. Text: RedBull
