Mattia likes living and would like to be a "normal" young man. But the fact that he has the incurable muscle disease muscular dystrophy type Duchenne drives him to live an intensely valuable shortened life. He plays electric wheelchair field hockey, loves theater, lives out his carnival fever as a Duchenne Waggis and accepts all facets of his life in a wheelchair. The short film about him "carpe diem - a life in the now" is a positive statement about him and the "normal" way of dealing with his life situation.
