Breast cancer screening

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. It is important to detect it as early as possible to improve the chances of recovery. Here we show you step by step how to do a proper palpation.

Breast check

You should examine your breasts once a month to prevent breast cancer. If you notice anything unusual, contact your doctor.

Stand in front of the mirror and observe whether the shape or skin of your breasts and nipples has changed recently. To do this, stretch your arms first downwards and then upwards into the air.

If you gently squeeze your nipple between your thumb, index finger and middle finger, does fluid flow out of the nipple?

Feel your breasts with the flat of your opposite hand and circle them around the nipple in a clockwise direction. Do you notice a painful hardening or a lump?

Feel under your armpits up to your breasts to see if anything has changed or if you can feel any lumps.

Examine yourself lying on your back, some changes are only noticeable then! Don't forget to check under your armpits!
