Bladder inflammation

Cystitis is an infection of the bladder caused by bacteria. This can be caused by intestinal bacteria or by hypothermia of the abdomen. It can cause pain when urinating and frequent urination. Emptying the bladder after sexual intercourse flushes bacteria out of the bladder and can thus prevent inflammation. Treatment usually consists of antibiotics and symptom relief with painkillers and drinking plenty of fluids.
