Cis

Cis is a term used to refer to people whose gender identity matches the gender they were assigned at birth. For example, if someone was born male and identifies as male, they would be referred to as a cisgender man. In contrast, someone who was born male but identifies as female would be referred to as a trans woman. The term cis is often used to emphasize the existence of gender diversity and to question the normativity of gender roles.
