Clitoris

The clitoris is an erogenous organ in women that is primarily responsible for sexual arousal and orgasm. The clitoris has often played a subordinate role in history, both in medicine and in sex education. Only recently has its importance for the sexual function and satisfaction of people with vaginas been recognized. The clitoris consists of three parts: the clitoral glans (or pearl) is the visible part and is located above the vaginal entrance on the vulva, the shaft that connects the glans to the body and the thighs (or outer vulval lips) that surround and protect the clitoris. Each part of the clitoris has its own sensitivity and can vary from person to person.
