Defloration

In colloquial language, this refers to the first sexual intercourse. Many people believe that the hymen (also known as the "hymen") tears and bleeds the first time. This is a myth. Not everyone's hymen tears during sex, because it is often so stretchy that the penis (or a tampon, finger, dildo, etc.) can easily penetrate it without damaging it. The appearance of the hymen therefore does not indicate whether a woman has already had sexual experience, i.e. whether or not a so-called "defloration" has taken place.
