Nymphomania

Nymphomania is a very intense sexual desire. It implies that a woman (!) is sexually very open and quickly stimulated and constantly wants to have sex. The term comes from the Greek "nymphe", which means young woman, and "mania", which means enthusiasm. This refers to a woman's increased desire for sexual activity. These women are called nymphomaniacs. Of course, the question arises here: what does increased desire mean? And why does it only occur in women?
