Question submitted for topics STI, Contraception

As a gay couple, do we always have to have sex with a condom?

I M18 have had my first boyfriend for a month. We're wondering whether or not you always need a condom for gay sex. After all, you could catch a disease. We've already had sex without a condom and nothing happened. But I once contracted gonorrhea from someone else. Do you know more about this?

Dear Tito

If you are in a monogamous relationship and are both tested, you have nothing to worry about and can have unprotected sex. Otherwise, I would do the following check.

Do the safer sex check. This will tell you how you can protect yourself against HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) - with tips tailored to your personal sexuality.

It is best to seek advice from a testing or counseling center in your area if you are at risk.
