Do I have to name the donor when I donate sperm?

We are both a happy couple and we want to have ONE baby next year. A private donor/ Scandinavian (without any further obligations) will help my partner to get pregnant without any complications. according to our information, we don't have to disclose the father. are there any things that we have overlooked? do we not want to make the private donation public? no moral reasons, please. Thank you!

Dear Lena

It's great that you want to fulfill your wish of having a child. It is important that a child has an unrestricted right to know the parentage data, i.e. the sire, as soon as it comes of age.

I think it would be best to inform yourself well in advance. I would advise you to have a consultation at a specialist centre in your canton. They will give you very good, neutral and unbiased advice.
