Question submitted for topic Body

I’m unhappy with my figure, can you help me?

Hey

Maybe this question doesn't quite fit in, but I've been feeling this way for several years now. I just don't feel comfortable in my body. I'm not the thinnest and I just can't accept that for myself. I've been on various diets and started exercising but nothing helps! In summer I only walk around in long dresses and going to the swimming pool is out of the question. I hide my figure as much as possible because I feel so uncomfortable when I don't. My family often make unnecessary suggestions that don't really help me. I want to change something but I don't know how, can you help me?

Dear Margarida, I understand you very well and it is also courageous to write this. I could just write to you now, accept yourself and love yourself as you are. Which is how it should be. But if you don't feel comfortable in your body and want to change something, that's fine too. The main thing is that you do it for yourself and not for others.

You could go to your doctor and ask to go to a nutritional consultation. This will then be covered by your health insurance. You'll get the right support there, because a diet like this is only frustrating if everything goes back to the way it was before anyway.

Make sure you do things that make you happy. Follow feminists on your social media who have a healthy relationship with their bodies and not emaciated models. This also has a lot to do with where and who you are influenced by.
