Sexual rights

If you know what your rights are, you can stand up for yourself. You also know where and how other people are protected and how you should behave towards others.

Sexual rights

  1. Many actions and attitudes are based on old customs.
  2. Sexual rights are human rights that have been concretized by IPPF.
  3. You have rights that protect you as an independent person.
  4. You are in control of your own body and your own life.
  5. All people have a right to health, including sexual health.
  6. There are 10 articles on sexual rights.

1. many actions and attitudes are based on old customs

Unfortunately, there are moral ideas about how a boy or man and a girl or woman should function. These ideas are quite restrictive and prevent you from being who you really are. When it is said that someone has acted "morally", it means that they have to behave in a way that people think is right and good.

2. sexual rights are human rights that have been concretized by IPPF.

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is kind of like the FIFA of sexual health (only way cooler). It has derived sexual rights in detail from human rights. Sexual rights are therefore closely linked to sexual health. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that sexual health can only be achieved and maintained if the sexual rights of all people are respected, protected and guaranteed.

3. you have rights that protect you as an independent person

This means that every person has certain rights that protect them as an independent person. These rights may vary depending on the country and society, but in general they protect a person's liberty, security and well-being. Some examples of these rights may include the right to life, liberty and personal security, the right to a fair trial, the right to freedom of expression, the right to education and the right to work. These rights are important to protect a person's dignity and integrity and to enable them to live their lives freely and safely. This protection is independent of culture and religion.

4. you can decide for yourself about your own body and your own life

The goal of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and Sexual Health Switzerland is a world in which all people, young and old, without exception, can freely determine their own bodies and thus their own lives.

5. all people have a right to health, including sexual health.

People should be able to make informed and protected decisions about their sexuality, free from discrimination and coercion.

6. there are 10 articles on sexual rights.

ARTICLE 1: THE RIGHT TO EQUALITY, EQUAL PROTECTION OF THE LAW AND FREEDOM FROM ALL FORMS OF DISCRIMINATION BASED ON SEX, SEXUALITY OR GENDER

Everyone has the right to equality, equal protection under the law. This means that no one may be discriminated against or treated badly on the basis of gender (female, male, inter*), sexuality (sexual and/or romantic orientation) or gender (gender identity). Everyone has the same opportunities, possibilities and obligations in life. Example: equal pay, freedom, healthcare costs.

ARTICLE 2: THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATION IRRESPECTIVE OF SEX, SEXUALITY OR GENDER

This means that everyone has the right to participate and must not be excluded because of gender, who the person is sexually or romantically attracted to or what identity that person has.

ARTICLE 3: THE RIGHTS TO LIFE, LIBERTY, SECURITY OF PERSON AND PHYSICAL INTEGRITY

You alone decide about your body and what happens to it. Example: Nobody has the right to do anything with your body without your consent (touching, assault, violence). This also applies to circumcision (genital surgery) and forced or child marriage. Your consent is always required. You must be capable of judgment (you know exactly what it is about and what the consequences of this action are for you or the other person).

ARTICLE 4: THE RIGHT TO PRIVACY

All people have the right to privacy. Example: Intimate and personal things, such as development, masturbation or sexuality do not have to be shared with everyone. You also have the right to shower or change your clothes at home without anyone watching you. You have privacy rights in a relationship, which means you don't have to give the other person the login for your cell phone or share your location.

ARTICLE 5: THE RIGHT TO PERSONAL SELF-DETERMINATION AND RECOGNITION BEFORE THE LAW

Everyone has the right to live their chosen sexuality in a self-determined and equal way, or not to live it. Example: You may chooseyour sexual partner freely and without the consent of your parents and live your sexuality with pleasure and without coercion or discrimination, or you may choose not to have sex. You have the right to masturbation.

ARTICLE 6: THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF THOUGHT AND EXPRESSION

All people have the right to freedom of thought and expression, which includes exploring sexuality, developing dreams and fantasies and being free from fear, shame and guilt. The rights of others must always be respected. Example: You can go to a women's strike and freely express your opinion on women's rights or you can go to Pride and stand up for the rights of LGBT+ people.

ARTICLE 7: THE RIGHT TO HEALTH

The right to health means, among other things, access to sexual health care, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all sexual infections and problems. Example: You and all people have the right to have protected sexual intercourse to prevent unwanted pregnancy and/or sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS. You may also seek counseling or treatment without the consent of your parents

ARTICLE 8: THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION AND INFORMATION

This includes the fact that all people have a right to holistic sexual education and information. Example: Schools are obliged to teach you about sexuality in understandable language. There are also Specialist centres for sexual health that will be happy to advise you.

ARTICLE 9: THE RIGHT TO MARRIAGE AND FAMILY AND SELF-DETERMINATION IN PROCREATION

All people have the right to decide for or against marriage and also for or against starting and planning a family. Example: If a person with a uterus becomes pregnant unintentionally, they have the right to have an abortion or choose to give birth. There is also the right to contraception or emergency contraception (morning-after pill).

ARTICLE 10: THE RIGHT TO ACCOUNTABILITY AND COMPENSATION

You will have access to remedies for violations and to full redress through restitution, compensation, rehabilitation, satisfaction, guarantee of non-repetition and all other means. So that what has happened to you is made good as adequately as possible.

Was denkt ihr dazu? Schreibt es uns gerne in die Kommentare. #frauenlogik #frauen #frauenprobleme #frauenrechte #frauenanschreiben #geschlechtsidentität #gesetzesänderung #gesetze #gesetz
