Question submitted for topic Contraception

Could she be pregnant?

I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend. I only penetrated her a little with my penis and then pulled it out again straight away. Now I'm worried that she might be pregnant after all. Is that possible?

Dear Schnelli

Thank you for your question. It is understandable that you are afraid, because even without ejaculation during sexual arousal, a drop of semen can leak from the penis. This drop can already contain sperm. It is therefore not a safe method of contraception to penetrate a woman without protection before having protected sex with a condom. Try to find out whether your girlfriend has just had her fertile days. You can calculate this using a cycle app or based on her last period. If this is the case and she doesn't get her period, contact a specialist centre in your canton. However, you can contact me again at any time. If such a mishap happens again or the condom breaks, you can get emergency contraception from the pharmacy.
